The new Competitive Manufacturing Training Package contains a core methodology called ‘5s’. The benefits of the Training Package require that the 5s methodology be implemented correctly. This 2007 demonstration will focus on effective training in this methodology to enable the Australian furnishing industry to achieve lean processes and become more competitive in a global market. This is an important improvement process for the industry. The Furnishing Association is driving this improvement process enabling many of the small businesses in the industry to understand and adopt new practices.
