The community housing industry in Australia continues to experience a period of unprecedented growth as a result of commonwealth policy initiatives, stimulus funding and changing state policies.

This project will build on the e-learning model developed in year one to provide housing specific training for middle managers in the workplace, enable the industry to experience e-learning implementation for the first time , and build momentum for long term integration of e-learning  nationally. In addition this project will act as a demonstration model for how the not for profit community sector can incorporate e-learning as a workforce development strategy.

In the first year, there has been considerable interest and increase in awareness of e-learning as a workforce development tool. All project participants  experienced  a steep learning curve. Much of the focus and energy in the first year of  the project was on developing online resources and facilitation strategies as well as developing employer awareness. New skills and resources have now been successfully  introduced. The second year of the project will build on initial successes including greater national engagement with employers,  building on e-learning mentor strategies , supporting learners and implementing appropriate technology strategies in response to the experience of implementing online learning in the community housing context.
