This is an industry e-learning demonstration developed by Federal Group Tasmania in collaboration with Drysdale Institute, Tasmania.
This training enhances learner engagement and accelerates skill/knowledge formation in people management skills – understanding and co-ordinating the induction of new staff, on-job coaching and performance feedback. The training is linked to two units of competency from the Certificate IV in Hospitality (Supervision) – “Recruit & Select Staff” and “Monitor Staff Performance”.
This training is a customisation of the Hospitality & Tourism (Management) Flexible Learning Toolbox. Federal Group's Sales & Marketing division assisted with the Federal Group 'branding' of the Toolbox object, provision of visual media and product presentation. There has been extensive involvement with key stakeholders within the Federal Group businesses in the development of the material and learning methodologies, education & communication strategies, implementation, review and ongoing application of the product and support systems. It is delivered online through WebCT* and integrated with workplace activities & assessment providing a blended learning model. The WebCT LMS enables:
• On-property and centralised management of regional property training activity, and;
• The creation of cohorts across remote locations allowing learners to access peer support, collaborative learning activities, subject matter experts from within the organisation and from within the TAFE network.
* This demonstration showcases the course content outside of a learning management system (LMS). Some features enabled by an LMS, such as discussion forums, are not available in this online version. Use your web browser's 'back' button when required to navigate back.
