Accelerated Certificate II in Horticulture (Parks and Gardens)
Canberra Institute of Technology
This is an ACT E-learning Innovations project outcome developed by The Canberra Institute of Technology and Jim's Mowing, with seed funding from the national training system's
e-learning strategy, the Australian Flexible Learning Framework.
This project offers an accelerated Certificate 2 Horticulture (Parks and Gardens), with e-learning components, flexibly delivered to Franchisees of Jim’s Mowing in the ACT and surrounding regions. The program is offered in the cooler months of the year when the Franchisees have more time available for study. It consists of e-learning materials which can be used for training, assessment, revision and future reference, and accessed by Franchisees on-the-job, as it suits their needs. This project and the development is ably supported by CIT’s Centre for Building and Environment, Horticulture program area and the Centre for Education Excellence’s Flex:Ed design and development team.
This e-learning solution delivers two core units from Horticulture Training Packages:
RTF2019A - Renovate grassed areas
RTF2023A - Support turf establishment
The learning material is delivered by CD-Rom with a print-based assessment to track user progress and maintain records of completion.
