1.2.2 Nationally recognised courses
When developing any course, you may wish to have it nationally recognised. In Australia, the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) [http://www.aqf.edu.au] is a unified system of national qualifications in schools, vocational education and training (TAFEs and private providers) and the higher education sector (mainly universities). There are advantages of participating in this system of nationally accredited courses:
- learners gain a qualification that has national recognition
- this helps learners to participate in other courses, and count your course towards other qualifications
- it encourages learners to progress through levels of education and training, and encourages life-long learning
- it helps you to be assured that your course meets the standards required to be nationally recognised
- it promotes the recognition of your course both nationally and internationally.
